Cancellation Policy

 

  •  Travellers who cancel 14 days or more before 6pm EST on the day of check-in will receive a full refund less 5% administrative fees. Please allow 30 days for processing.
  • Travellers who cancel less than 14 days before 6pm EST on the day of check-in are charged 50% of the reservation fee amount.
  • Travellers with bookings between the dates December 21st and January 6th who cancel 30 days before 6pm EST on the day of check-in, will receive a full refund less 5% administrative fees. Please allow 30 days for processing.
  • Travellers with bookings between the dates December 21st and January 6th who cancel less than 30 days before 6pm EST on the day of check-in, are charged 50% of the reservation fee amount.
  • Please allow 5 to 10 business days for refunds on cancellations made after 45 days.
  • No-shows are charged 100% of the reservation fee.
  • All refunds will be applied to the credit card from which the payment was received.
  • Group cancellations are subject to an extended cancellation policy which will be shared at the time of the reservation. Please contact Reservations at stay@oceanblue-resort.com for further information.
  • Cancellations must be made by emailing Reservations at stay@oceanblue-resort.com and are only valid when issued with a Cancellation Number. Verbal cancellations are not accepted.
  • If a guest chooses to end their stay early they will not be eligible for a refund.
  • In the event of an ‘Act of God’ resulting in cancelled flights, OceanBlue will issue a voucher enabling you to reschedule your holiday at the same rate and in the same season, within 12 months of the original booking. We advise that you travel with comprehensive travel insurance.


Terms & Conditions


Effective midnight, Thursday September 22, 2022, Barbados discontinued all COVID-19 related travel protocols. Therefore, there is no testing requirements for entering Barbados whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated. In addition, the wearing of masks generally will now be optional.

COVID-19 DISCLAIMER
The following Covid-19 Disclaimer forms part of all guests' reservation contract with OceanBlue Resort Inc. and must be signed when registering at check-in so as to acknowledge agreement.
I accept that Covid-19 and its associated variants is an extremely contagious infectious disease that can result in illness, injury and death. I acknowledge that wherever people are or have been present, there will be an inherent risk of exposure to the CoronaVirus and although OceanBlue Resort Inc is taking reasonable efforts to mitigate contamination risks, all risk of exposure cannot be fully eliminated. I also agree that by visiting and/or staying at OceanBlue Resort Inc I am assuming the inherent risk of exposure of Covid-19.  In consideration of the use of the guest room and/or facilities and/or services of OceanBlue Resort Inc I agree to waive, release, indemnify and hold innocuous OceanBlue Resort Inc. and its respective parent corporations, affiliates, subsidiaries, insurers, directors and representatives from any claims and/or damages including legal fees directly or indirectly that I may have relating to or arising from or in connection with potential or actual exposure to COVID-19 at the property of OceanBlue Resort Inc or at any medical facility or testing centre visited subsequently including, but not limited to, any infection, transmission, illness, injury, loss of work, loss of wages, trauma, emotional distress, medical expense, death and/or health condition influenced, impacted or complicated by the Covid-19 disease arising from my stay at and/or visit to OceanBlue Resort Inc.  By signing below, I acknowledge, on my behalf and on behalf of any other Guest staying with me, that I have informed all Guests of these terms, that the Guests fully understand the waiver set forth above, and that each of the Guests fully accepts all risk of exposure to COVID-19 in connection with visiting or staying at OceanBlue Resort Inc.

Room Rates and Taxes

  • Room rates are in US dollars and are subject to 10% Value Added Tax (VAT).
  • All room rates are subject to an additional mandatory Government Room Rate Levy of US$4.38 per room, per night.
  • All rooms are subject to a Resort Fee of US$ 8 per night.
  • The use of the pool, sun loungers and swim-up bar are for registered guests only.
  • Room rates are based on single or double occupancy.
  • Maximum 2 persons in king bed rooms (1 king bed).
  • Maximum 2 persons in double bed rooms (2 double beds).
  • Maximum 2 persons in twin bed rooms (2 twin beds).
  • There is a charge for an additional guest in double rooms.
  • The resort does not accommodate children under the age of 16 years.
  • Guests must be 18 years and older to occupy a guest room alone.
  • Staff gratuities are not included and are at guest discretion.
  • We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
  • Local credit cards are charged in Barbados dollars.
  • International credit cards are charged in US dollars.
  • A deposit of 50% is required to secure a reservation.
  • Balance of stay will be charged to your credit card prior to check-in.
  • All incidental charges will be charged to your room and settled via the credit card on file.
  • We reserve the right of admission and permanence.


Arrivals and Departures

  • Check-in is 3 p.m.
  • Check-out time is 11 a.m.
  • If you are arriving early in the morning and would like immediate access to your room, we suggest that you extend your booking to include the night before your arrival.
  • Late check-out time is 4 p.m. at an additional charge of US$50 depending on the availability of your room. Please inquire at the reception desk.
  • Your passport and credit card are required when checking-in.
  • Your room key will be issued after registration. Please note that there will be a fee of US$50 applied to your credit card if your room key is lost.


Guest Registration

  • Upon arrival all guests must register with Reception.
  • Only registered guests will be permitted to enter rooms.
  • No unregistered visitors are allowed to enter the hotel rooms or stay on property. This is mandatory to conform with the Emergency Policy of the Resort and the safety and security of all guests.


Smoking and Vaping

  • All rooms, balconies, patios and lounge areas are non-smoking and non-vaping.
  • Our property is smoke and vape free with the exception of a designated smoking area. Please enquire at Reception.
  • Cigars and pipes are not permitted on the property.
  • There will be a cleaning fee of US$400 charged to your credit card if you are found to have been smoking or vaping in your room or on your balcony, verandah or patio.


WiFi

  • There is FREE WiFi in all guest rooms and public areas. Please ask Reception for login information when checking in.
  • All guest rooms contain USB charging points.


Beach Towels

  • Beach towels are in your room on arrival and are subject to an exchange policy thereafter.
  • Your credit card will be charged US $25 for each lost beach towel.


Accessibility

  • Please note that OceanBlue Resort is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Upper floor rooms are only accessed by stairs. Some upper and ground floor rooms are split level. Please specify if you would like your room to be a single level, ground floor room.


Injury and Special Needs

  • OceanBlue has a team certified in administering First Aid and CPR.
  • Guests must immediately inform Reception of any accident or injury that occurs to them or a member of their party, while on the premises of OceanBlue. Reports must be made within 24 hours. This is necessary for Health and Safety obligations.
  • Please inform us of any special needs that you may have when booking. Where possible we will do our best to facilitate your needs or advise you of an alternative property.
  • On check-in please advise our Receptionist of any life threatening allergies that you may have so that our First Aid and CPR team is informed. When dining, please also inform restaurant staff before ordering your food. This is good practise whether dining at OceanBlue or at another restaurant off property.
  • We are not responsible for personal injuries caused inside or outside our facilities' installation, during the stay or transit in our facilities.
  • Furthermore, we are not responsible for any situation caused in tours or walks outside our facilities.


Damages and Inappropriate Behaviour

  • In the event that there are damages to hotel property or items missing from your room, OceanBlue reserves the right to charge your credit card a reasonable fee for repairs or replacement.
  • Illegal conduct or violent and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated at OceanBlue. We reserve the right to relocate guests to another property if necessary.
  • We ask that improper language is not used while on our property.
  • We are not responsible for damage or loss of personal belongings.


Valuables and Security

  • There is a safe in each room for you to keep your valuables in. OceanBlue will not be held responsible for lost or stolen items. Should valuables go missing from your room, please inform Reception so that we can contact the local police.
  • Additionally, we advise that when leaving the property, you place your passport, other important documents, valuables and electronic devices in your room safe. Please do not travel with them unnecessarily.
  • OceanBlue has manned security between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily with two guards patrolling the property.


Rental Vehicles and Parking

  • License plate numbers must be registered at our reception.
  • All vehicles must park in the car park provided by OceanBlue.
  • Parking is at your own risk. The Resort is not liable for any damages to the vehicle.


Other Information

  • Unfortunately OceanBlue does not facilitate pets.
  • Listening to or broadcasting audio without headphones is prohibited in shared and communal areas of the hotel. While you may listen to audio in your room, we reserve the right to monitor and take action on noise complaints.
  • It is illegal to wear camouflage clothing or attire in Barbados. The Barbados Government has a zero tolerance policy on this.
  • The official language spoken is English.
  • Our local currency is Barbados dollars which converts to US $1 to BD $2.
  • Cars drive on the left-hand side of the road with the steering wheel on the right side of the car.
  • The average temperature in Barbados is 80 to 86 Fahrenheit or 26 to 30 Celsius.
  • The rainy season in Barbados is June to November.
  • The wind in Barbados is usually high during February to April. This is a prime time for some water sports.
  • When purchasing duty free items, the merchant will ask to see your passport and your return airline ticket.
  • We highly recommend that when travelling internationally you have a comprehensive travel insurance policy.
