OceanBlue Resort

Experience total calm and relaxation

OceanBlue Resort

An adult only boutique hotel with the spaciousness of a resort

OceanBlue is an architectural fusion of the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Designed by the architect Ian Morrison, known for his earlier Tolkien inspired work, the hotel is imbued with modern rustic charm and features curved whitewashed walls that unite the indoors and outdoors.

Located on the outskirts of a traditional Barbadian village and set on 3.75 acres of tropical gardens, OceanBlue is fronted by a rugged coral coastline and the many blue hues of the Atlantic Ocean. To our east and west are the nearby beaches of Women's Bay and Silver Sands, popular with wind and water sports enthusiasts.

OceanBlue is a Barbadian family owned and operated hotel, offering a serene environment for guests 16 years and older.

Wind & Water Sports

Stay with us to see what makes Barbados the perfect destination for wind and water sports

Situated most easterly of the Caribbean island chain, Barbados is the perfect wind and water sports destination with the waves of the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast and the calm of the Caribbean Sea on the west coast. Located between Silver Sands and Long Beach, OceanBlue is well positioned for kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing enthusiasts. Silver Sands Beach is renowned for water & wind sports, especially during the months February to April when the wind conditions are usually most favourable. The calmer waters of Carlisle Bay on the west coast of Barbados are popular for paddle boarding, scuba diving and snorkelling.

This hotel is fabulous, as are all the staff. They are welcoming, attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The structure/presentation of the hotel itself is idyllic. The restaurant is lovely with varied food, including vegan and vegetarian options. You are served by friendly staff. The rooms are clean and spacious with daily cleaning and added extras to ensure comfort. The neighbourhood is friendly and you experience a true Barbadian culture full of warmth, colour and vibrancy. In contrast, the hotel provides a welcome peaceful environment to enjoy, where you can watch the stars and listen to the ocean at night. If you want a holiday where all the staff genuinely care whether you have a nice holiday or not, this is the place for you. I cannot fault the attitude of Liesja and her team and wish them well in the future. They deserve full occupancy 365 days of the year. We hope to return one day and hope others choose to experience the joys of OceanBlue. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Where to start... this is a really unique place. Its location beside the ocean is breathtaking, yet serene and soothing. Not a sound other than the crashing waves and birdsong. A lovely breeze from the ocean tempers the heat. The resort's layout and architecture is particularly attractive; spaces to meander, sit and read. I'd really recommend the restaurant and bar; food, staff and ambiance are marvellous. There was live music some nights, really nice vibe. The menu is quite varied, and beautifully cooked. Beds are extremely comfortable, rooms are clean and spacious. All.rooms seem to have some view of the sea. It's family owned and run. Most remarkable of all is the genuine warm welcome from the owners, who go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable and making the most of your stay. Without being over bearing, on numerous occasions, they surprised us by doing something special for us. We were introduced to fellow guests who had returned for a total chill out experience. We felt we were leaving behind friends.

Disliked: We were sorry that we didn't hire a car. However, you can call.for a taxi at reception. Or the local van service is really efficient and part of the island experience!

This beautiful, secluded boutique resort is a hidden gem! My husband and myself, our adult children and my mother had a fantastic week stay during the holidays and New Year’s. Our ocean front rooms (202 2nd floor and 207 ground floor) with balconies had picture perfect views of the ocean and pool. The staff and owners (James, Lulu and Liesje) of the resort were the most friendly, helpful, and accommodating hotel hosts we have ever met which made our stay extremely relaxing and enjoyable. The resort onsite reasonably priced restaurant with its ocean proximity and view along with its attentive staff was a treat. We all thoroughly enjoyed the resort location- whether relaxing and reading by the poolside adjacent the ocean, walking/jogging (less than 8-minute walk) to and along the stunning scenic isolated long beach or taking surfing lessons and snorkelling a short drive away. Our son who is an avid kite surfer was thrilled to be so close to the best Barbados kitesurfing beach location (Brian Talma’s Kite school is a short 3-minute drive away). We could see our son kitesurfing in the distance from our balcony! Great private base to explore the rest of the island as the farthest town is less than an hour drive and Oistins is a short drive away from the resort. Highly recommend this resort for those that prefer a more private atmosphere than the crowded bustle of large all-inclusive resorts where one competes for a place to relax.

What a find… we had an amazing three nights stay at the remarkable Ocean Blue resort and it is one we won’t forget. The Ocean Blue is a unique blend of Caribbean & Mediterranean vibes & a place you will feel welcome immediately on entering the hotel reception. The room was amazing, we just loved the view & the design. The pool is great & the constant sound of the ocean is a sound you will miss when leaving. Thank you to everyone for making our time with you so memorable.

OceanBlue is a gem. It has been beautifully and lovingly restored by the friendliest, most helpful and attentive owners we have ever encountered. We highly recommend this amazing boutique hotel and hope to return. The unique architecture is a perfect backdrop for the paintings by local artists displayed throughout the resort. The seaside setting is spectacular and rooms are spotless and comfortable. Our room had a balcony and ocean view. Having the excellent Marco Polo restaurant on site is another big plus. We rented a car to explore the island while we were there. Oistins, several beaches, and the airport are a short drive from the resort.
